FREE EVENT: "Essence of Tarot," an Interview and Book Talk with Mary K. Greer, Aug. 4
Monday, August 4
7pm–8pm EDT
FREE: Participants must RSVP through this page.
Join us for an evening steeped in scent and symbolism with the incomparable Mary K. Greer as we celebrate the re-release of her beloved classic Essence of Tarot. In this unique work, Greer reveals how the ancient art of fragrance—so deeply woven into magical and spiritual rituals for centuries—can transform and enrich your tarot practice today. Whether you are an experienced reader or newly curious about aromatherapy, this conversation will open a gateway into the primordial sense of smell to awaken the cards in a wholly intimate way.
Mary K. Greer is an independent scholar, writer, teacher, and professional tarot consultant, known for her innovative teaching techniques. With over 55 years tarot experience, she is the author of 12 books on tarot and on magic and taught tarot in colleges and universities for 14 years. As a tarot reader, Mary thinks of herself as a ‘midwife of the soul,’ favoring techniques that are interactive, transformational and empowering. Her 1984 book Tarot for Your Self revolutionized the practice of tarot, being the first book to describe reading for oneself as a self-help, personal development, and creativity tool. She is featured at conferences and workshops around the world, and currently lives in Northern California.
Mary’s other books include: Pamela Colman Smith: The Untold Story; Archetypal Tarot: What Your Birth Card Reveals; 21 Ways to Read A Tarot Card; The Complete Book of Tarot Reversals; Understanding the Tarot Court; Essence of Magic: Tarot, Ritual and Aromatherapy; Women of the Golden Dawn: Rebels and Priestesses; and more. Mary’s blog on the internet features posts on Pamela Colman Smith, the history and practice of tarot, and on women's age-old role as diviners. She also comments on the appearance of tarot and divination in popular media from poetry to books, films and music. You can find her at www.marykgreer.com and on Facebook.
This event is scheduled to be hosted on Zoom. Participants will receive the event link via email on the morning of the event day.
