Join us for an evening celebrating the 40th Anniversary Edition of Tarot: The Open Labyrinth, Rachel Pollack's long-awaited classic, newly returned to print by Weiser Books.
First published in 1986 and long out of print, Rachel Pollack’s Tarot: The Open Labyrinth is one of her most unusual works. Behind its iconic, Daedalian circle of cards lies an archive of Pollack’s readings, in which images converse, contradict, and answer one another. The book offers a rare opportunity to witness her tarot mind in motion: a breathing, pulsing space where memory, psychology, imagination, and change coexist. Here, spreads become meditative arrangements with lives of their own, waiting to be activated.
Moderated by tarot scholar and Laetitia Barbier, this special panel brings together leading voices in contemporary tarot to reflect on Pollack's extraordinary legacy and the enduring influence of The Open Labyrinth. Together, they will explore the book's radical approach to reading, its lasting impact on generations of practitioners, and the ways Pollack forever transformed our understanding of what tarot can be. This event will include short presentations by the following presenters:
