Sunday, January 18, join Laetitia for a special event with Kate Belew, celebrating the release of her new book, Word Witch.
Word Witches are spellcasters of language — storytellers, poets, writers, and ritualists who understand that writing is a form of channeling: ancestors, spirits, collective dreams, and the most surprising parts of the self. Word Witch is a joyful guide and companion, inviting writers to build a creative practice rooted in magic.
Writer and witch Kate Belew invites readers to create altars of language through simple, potent writing rituals designed to spark inspiration and sustain a living practice. This part interview, part practical class is an opportunity not only to discover her work more deeply, but also to write with her — hands-on, spell by spell.
Kate Belew is an author, poet, and Witch. Her work exists at the crossroads of creativity and magic. She has taught and facilitated circles and workshops worldwide since 2017. She is dedicated to the spirit of poetry, the sacred wild of the planet, and seeks enchantment in all she does. She is a forever student of the plants and the stars. She has an MFA in Poetry from Sarah Lawrence College and is an initiated Green Witch. Her roots are in Michigan, and her wings are in Brooklyn, two places she calls home.
