It is possible that, if you are acquainted with Lenormand, you have seen the word tableau in association to the oracle. In fact, many think that it is exclusive to the Oracle Lenormand, but that is not the case. The tableau method is a collection of cartomantic techniques that have been applied to different divination systems for at least a couple centuries.
What’s so interesting about it? Reading tarot (or any other system) following the tableau method often bridges the gap between reading card-by-card (regardless of how in-depth a single card is known) and providing a well-threaded, cohesive reading that is relevant to the querent’s particular question.
In this class, I will give you the keys to learn a versatile system that facilitates nuanced and well-rounded readings and makes contextual adaptation of the interpretation easier to grasp, and that will enrich your readings combining an analytical and predictive approach to tarot.
A majority of the skills that you will learn during this class can be extrapolated to other divination systems, like the Oracle Belline, or of course the Oracle Lenormand. And once that you begin to see the patterns, you will surely add some tableau flavour to every oracle.

María Alviz Hernando’s tarot journey began circa 2006, after she bought a deck behind her parent's back that she hasn’t put back ever since. What started as a hobby, turned into a passion that eventually became her full-time occupation in late 2015. In 2017, she established herself as The Sibyl’s Tarot. At present, María is a reader of multiple systems, divination teacher, frequent conference presenter, and author of Tarot Tableau Revolution published by Weiser Books.
Her signature style, known as Tarot Tableau, blends traditional tarot and European cartomantic techniques, resulting in a system that aims to make tarot effective, useful, and to the point. As a reader, she employs a combination of prediction and analysis, exploring the possibilities available and offering actionable steps to provide her querents with a 360º perspective on their situation, aiming to give readings that are practical and relevant to their situation.
While tarot is her default medium of divination, she enhances her practice with other divinatory systems, with Lenormand and the Oracle Belline being two big favorites. She has designed three decks; The Oracle Belline Reimagined, The Thinning Veil Oracle, and The Oracle of Victorian Symbols and Gothic Tales. She has also been a colaborator in the guidebook of The Voice & Vision Tarot by Ciro Marchetti.
Education is a cornerstone of her work, offering a number of recorded and live classes, one-on-one mentoring options, and speaking at diverse divination conferences internationally like StaarCon, TABI Summer Conference or The Oracles Rebellion in April 2026.
Beyond her undying love for tarot reading, María indulges in her other passions, including history and antiques, especially the world of antique jewelry, literature, cross-stitching, travel, and spoiling her bratty cats. She is based in Madrid and resides with her husband, acting as the live-in servants of their five entitled kitties with an extraordinary skill to steal and chew cards.
