FRENCH IMPORT: Le Nouveau Jeu de la Main – French Language
Created by Adèle Moreau, a famous 19th-century fortune teller and supposed student of Mademoiselle Lenormand, the Jeu de la Main (“The Game of the Hand”) combines three disciplines into 58 cards: palmistry, planetary astrology, and cartomancy. Moreau’s aim was to elevate palmistry, legitimizing the practice as a (pseudo-)scientific discipline akin to phrenology. Divided into seven astrological planetary suits, each card features a different hand, symbols, keywords, and its associated playing card.
The Nouveau Jeu de la Main has been reinvented by Dusserre Cartomancie with a more playful and modern approach to make fortune-telling accessible to all.
Box of 84 cards including a deck of 58 divination cards, palmistry/keyword reference cards, and an explanatory video of the game. Cards made in France and box in Italy.
Please note: this deck is in French only and is unavailable in English.
